Recall: Sunflower/Clif

A number of food companies have recalled products containing sunflower seeds from the ingredient supplier SunOpta due to possible contamination with Listeria monocytogenes (L.mono). Clif Bar's voluntary recall is included below, and a link to other recalls of foods containing sunflower seeds is also included.

Rocky Mountain Bicycle Recall



Recall: Rocky Mountain Bicycles

Rocky Mountain recalls bicycles with front disc brakes to replace quick release lever due to crash hazard. An open quick release lever on the front wheel hub can come into contact with the front disc brake assembly, causing the front wheel to come to a sudden stop or separate from the bicycle, posing a risk of injury to the rider.

Black Diamond ASPIR Harness



Alert: Petzl ASPIR Harnesses

Petzl has shared a news release about a safety concern with their ASPIR harnesses. An unknown number of these harnesses were dangerously modified and then resold on Ebay, which is never a recommended source for buying climbing gear. Safety leg loops or waistbelts were cut and restiched in a way they could break under force within range of standard climbing activities. These harnesses should be inspected and Petl recommends destroying them if such stitching is present.

Recall: Crescent Point Propane

Crescent Point Energy recalls 118,000,000 gallons of propane for use in recreational vehicles, barbeques, stoves, and other appliances. The propane is being recalled for inspection due to insufficient levels of odorant to alert consumers of a gas leak.

Black Diamond Runner Recall



Recall: BD Carabiners, Quickdraws, Nylon Runners

Black Diamond voluntarily issued a recall of carabiners/quickdraws because of the possibility of defects in the gate that could cause the carabiners to fail or function incorrectly, and a recall of nylon runners because of a possibility that the runners are not load-bearing and will fail under standard use. Model numbers and years are specified.

Recall: Auvi-Q

Sanofi US issues voluntary recall of all Auvi-Q® epinephrine auto-injectors due to potential inaccurate dosage delivery.

Customers should immediately contact their healthcare provider (HCP) for a prescription for an alternate epinephrine auto-injector. In the event of a life-threatening allergic reaction (anaphylaxis), patients should only use their Auvi-Q device if another epinephrine auto-injector is not available, and then call 911 or local medical emergency services.

Front Disc



Recall: Bikes with Quick Release Lever & Front Disc Brakes

Thirteen manufacturers and distributors recall 1.5 million bicycles equipped with front disk brakes and quick release lever. An open quick release lever can come into contact with the front disc brake rotor causing the front wheel to come to a sudden stop or separate from the bicycle, posing a risk of injury to the rider.
