Alex Kosseff presents at 2nd Annual Midwest Risk Management Symposium



OSI at Midwest RM Symposium!

OSI's director Alex Kosseff will present his workshop, "10 Steps to Better Risk Management," at the 2nd Annual Midwest Risk Management Symposium. Sponsored by YMCA Camps Manito-wish, Menogyn, and Widjiwagan, the conference will be held in Loretto, MN, October 27-29. NRS Helmet Recall

NRS Helmet Recall

NRS Chaos Side Cut Helmets have faulty rivets connecting the chin strap to the helmet. Under pressure, the rivets can fail, causing the the chinstrap to disengage from the helmet. Only helmets with the Boa dial-fit retention harness are affected and should be returned to NRS for refund, replacement or credit.

GT Bike Recall



GT Mountain Bike Recall

GT Downhill Mountain Bike wheel hubs can break causing brake systems to fail, leading to potential crashes and inuries. 2014 GT Fury Expert and 2014 GT Fury Team models are involved. The bikes have front and rear disc breaks. No injuries have been reported. Bicycles of these models shoud be returned to authorized GT dealers to replace front and rear wheels free of charge.

Sterling Rope Company, a major US climbing rope manufacturer, has recalled a number of their sewn climbing cord products. The sewn cords may break at lower than specified strength and anyone owning these products should stop using them immediately.

Recalled Coleman Latern



Coleman Lantern Recall

Coleman has recalled a small batch of "Northstar Liquid Fuel Lanterns." An incorrect gas feed tube was installed on the lantern. When lit, the tube can release too much fuel, posing fire and burn hazards. The relevant lanterns show date codes 10 13 or 11 13. Please check any recent lantern purchases to see if they are effected by this recall.

Recalled BCA Float Airbag



BCA Avalanche Airbag Recall

Backcountry Access (BCA) in conjunction with the US Consumer Product Safety Commission and Health Canada has recalled certain "Float Airbags." There have been no injuries as a result of this issue; however, the trigger may fail to properly deploy the airbag when pulled. Customers can obtain a replacement, upgraded trigger from BCA.
