Salsa Cycles Bike Rack Recall

Salsa Cycles has recalled their Salsa Minimalist bicycle racks. The L-shaped mounting straps used to attach the bicycle rack to the front of the bicycle (the racks can also be mounted to the rear) can break and cause the rack to fall while the bicycle is in use, posing a fall hazard. This recall involves all Salsa Minimalist racks sold after January 2011.

Gerber Instant Knife Recall

The locking mechanism on the spring-assisted blade can fail to engage properly, causing the blade to fold during use, posing a laceration hazard. The recalled knives are spring-assisted clip knives with a black retractable blade which folds into the textured black handle when the knife is not in use.

Search and Rescue Truck regarding billing for rescue



Rescuers Question $7,000 Bill

Volunteer rescuers with New Hampshire's Mountain Rescue Service (MRS) are asking why a woman they helped to rescue was charged $7,000 for rescue services. The law allowing for rescue costs to be recouped in this manner was intended for negligent outdoorspeople.

17,000 lower end mountain bikes from GT, Giant, and Trek have been recalled due to potential failure of the SR Suntour brand suspension forks. The forks' tubes can break and injuries have been reported.

Chariot Child Bike Trailer Recall

Chariot Carriers has recalled selected models of their popular child bicycle trailers and conversion kits. The trailer's hitch mechanism can crack and break, causing the trailer to detach from the bicycle.
