Omega Pacific Quik-Lok Carabiner Recall

Omega Pacific 7/16Omega Pacific has recalled certain 7/16" Modified D Quik-Lok carabiners sold between April 1st, 2012 and May 22nd, 2012. These are steel carabiners marketed for rescue and industrial purposes, though similar models are sometimes used for institutional top rope climbing. Omega Pacific has discovered a defect in the gate of the carabiners that could, over time, lead to a deterioration in strength or lifespan of the carabiners.

The problem was discovered during an internal review and has not resulted in product failure or injury. Those owning the affected carabiners are asked to return them to Omega Pacific for inspection. This recall affects 7/16" Modified D Quik-Lok Carabiners and Quik Loks with Captive Eye pins only. The carabiners are black or gold in color. Modified D 7/16" Carabiners with "Screw-Lok" and "3-Stage Quik-Lok" gates are not effected.
