Singing Rock Via Ferrata Recall

Recalled Singing Rock Via Feratta TetherDistributor Liberty Mountain has recalled the Singing Rock Easy Go XP Lock Via Ferrata Lanyard. Worldwide there have been a large number of via ferrata lanyards from different manufacturers recalled over the past year following a 2012 lanyard failure in Austria. These systemic design problems have received limited attention in the U.S. as via ferattas (climbs protected by metal cables and rungs) are rare here. As far as we are aware, this is the first of the via feratta recall to be conducted officially through the CPSC in the U.S. The elasticized webbing may detoriate over time and break while in use.

Given the widespread recalls of Via Ferrata tethers (lanyards), owners or users of ANY such equipment should check with the manufacturer to ensure their product is not included in any recall.
